PRODAINS

We also have catered chalets in Morzine’s Slate Valley. Chalets Atelier (10-12 bed) is in the sought-after area of Les Prodains. This location has been developed due to the quick access to Avoriaz 1800. The Prodains Express is the most efficient lift in the region, taking ~4–5 minutes to reach the top, transporting 2,000–2,400 people/hour. Happily, Prodains holds the snow better than any other valley in Morzine.

Morzine FAQs

How do you get to Morzine?

The most popular way to travel to Morzine is by plane. Morzine is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes from Geneva airport and there are a range of transfers available – see below.

You can also get to Morzine by train. The Eurostar takes you into Paris where you can take the SNCF TGV that goes to Cluses or Thonon-Les-Bain. From there you can arrange a transfer to Morzine resort. Please note that the Snow Train service (which allows snow sports luggage to be carried on board) is no longer running as of Winter 2020/21 and you will not be able to carry skis/snowboard on the usual Eurostar service.

If you prefer to drive, Morzine is about a 9 hour drive from Calais if you take the toll roads. The tolls will cost around €60.

Can you recommend a ski school in Morzine/Avoriaz?

Ski lessons for our Prodain chalets : Chalets Atelier

If you are staying in our Prodain chalet Atelier which runs from Sunday – Sunday, you should take your lessons in Avoriaz as this is much closer to the chalets than Morzine.

Private ski lessons are ideal as you can request to meet at the top of the cable car. We have had previous guests recommend Evolution2Avoriaz Alpine Ski School and Esf-avoriaz.

If you require ski school and are in our Prodain chalets be aware that you will need to find a ski school that starts on a Monday (at time of writing, this is Avoriaz Alpine Ski School and our new supplier New Generation).

If you require snowboarding lessons we highly recommend our partners at MintSnowboarding.

Ski lessons for central Morzine chalets:

If you are staying in any of our town centre chalets, the list for ski school or private lessons is here

If you require ski school previous guests have recommended Easytoride and ESF for ski school, be sure to make sure that the lessons start on the Monday if your chalet is Sunday – Sunday.

Our town centre chalets, Grand Sapin, Colibri and Manors are only a few 100 meters from the cable car and Ibex offers a shuttle service so most often guests do not feel the need for lockers. However, if you have small children, for example, you might like to reserve one.

The lockers are at the bottom of the Pleney cable car. You will need to book well in advance as availability is limited. The price is around €10 for up to 5 people per day and includes boot warmers. Book here.

Can we book a massage?

Morzine has a lot of options for massage, Steph has risen to the challenge and tried them out for you. For sports massage look no further than Mountain Rehab For non-sports massage Stephs’s two favourites are Kerri McAuley and Indulge.

How is the night life?

Morzine must be one of the best know places for apres-ski in France.

From the bottom of town to the top. Dixies often has live music. Robinson’s has Mutzig on tap (very strong beer). Roger’s is the ‘in’ place at the time of writing. Cafe Chaud is a great night spot playing everything for drum and bass to grime. Tibetan is popular with guests. Coyote, Opera, the Tavern are all within inches of each other and are a great night out. Tremplin is great for apres as is neighbouring hotel the cottage. Phew!

Though you will most likely catch Dom and Steph chilling in Coupe De Coeur, or the wine cave at the Charmade or Chaudanne!

What is a shared transfer?

All transfers are door to door
The maximum waiting time for a customer having met the Ski-Lifts representative in the arrivals hall is 45 minutes.
Pick up times for departures are between 3 to 4 hours before the scheduled flight departure time (3.5 to 4.5 for Avoriaz).
These rules only apply for flights between 09:00 & 21:00, outside of these times, the maximum waiting time at the airport increases to 1.5 hours and the pick up time window changes to 3 to 5 hours before the flight time (3.5 to 5.5 for Avoriaz).

All shared transfers involve sharing a vehicle with other customers who have similar flight times and are going to the same, or a nearby resort.

A Shared Transfer may involve a short amount of time waiting at the airport for other customers. The rules defining the waiting time for the different types of shared transfers are described below. However, in all cases if a flight is delayed by more than one-hour then the customer will have to wait for the next available transfer, which could be on the next day if no further shared transfers are available.

GVA Airport > Morzine
09:00 – 21:00: Maximum wait of 45 minutes
21:00 – 09:00: Maximum wait of 90 minutes

Pick-up times for departures are set by Ski-Lifts and they will send an SMS message the day before they are due to leave with their exact pick up time. If the pick up time is within the allowed time window (described below) then these are not flexible and cannot be changed – if a customer wishes to choose their pick up time, they must book a Private Transfer.

These are the different areas of Geneva Airport, where Shared Transfers are on offer this season and some of the key rules that relate to each (a full break down of Terms & Conditions can also be found at http://www.ski-lifts.com/AdditionalInformation/Terms.aspx)

What happens if I arrive late?
