We are drawing ever closer to welcoming our first guests of winter 25/26, who arrive in just over a month. Our concierge service is kicking into gear helping organise their winter sports lessons. So we got in touch with some of our favourite suppliers to ask for their top recommendations for where to cosy up for a fire side break on a crisp winter day! Super excited to try these this winter!
Lapiza (Champoussin, Switzerland) Such a quaint little place with the best fondue!” Also featured in our top 3 piste side coffee stops!

La Leiche (Chatel, France) From Paddy, “ It’s a risk as it’s a fair way to go and if you’re not there early you’ll miss out to someone else, but the fireplace at La Leiche, above the Linga lift, takes an awful lot of beating. Be very careful when you sit down, as there are often assorted cats and dogs hidden among the sofas. A perfect place to recover after laps of the legendary Hidden Valley on a powder day.”

More from Paddy: “The Pomme de Pin‘s (Montriond, France) fireplace won’t just dry your goggles and gloves – it will melt them into an unidentifiable lump of forever chemicals that can sit on your mantelpiece for years to come to remind you of your folly. But get a little further away from the inferno and you’ll be warm and dry, and enjoying one of their if-you-know-you-know mochas. Just stay away from the sofa area upstairs. Far too comfy and tempting for sleepy legs that ought to be outside skiing.”
Alpage Du Crot (Avoriaz, France) From Paddy – “There’s no better way to keep your fondue warm than on the clanking old log burner at the Alpage du Crot, on the Prodains Home Run. This tiny eatery is a real hidden gem, and almost close enough to home that you don’t need to worry too much about how many Genepis they ply you with before sending you on your way.”

La Paika (Les Gets, France). From SkiWithEase “Access is available via the La Turche button lift, over the back of the Grains d’ Or Express, or down and around the ridge from the Les Perrières chairlift. Tucked away, this charming traditional restaurant often goes unnoticed by newcomers. It boasts a warm, crackling log burner that creates an inviting atmosphere, perfect for cosy gatherings. With its rustic décor and authentic Savoyard hospitality, it’s a hidden gem. Notknown for being the cheapest spot on the mountain, but a real treat of a warm-up stop.:
More from SkiWithEase : The Pointe du Nyon Eagles restaurant (Morzine, France).” The Pointe du Nyon Eagles restaurant features a large, roaring open fire, perfect for warming up before hitting the slopes again. While it may not be small and cozy, there will be seating available! An added attraction is the exotic bird enclosure, which includes eagles, owls, and vultures, among others. Kids will especially enjoy the lunchtime bird shows! Conveniently located across from the restaurant is the button lift, which leads to the Eagle skier cross circuit, offering a quick loop of fun on the slopes!”
Restaurant Le Cretes: (Morzine, France) “Last restaurant in the row as you exit the Super-Morzine Zore chair lift, Nr top of Du Baron button lift. The staff at Le Cretes offer a big smile and a warm welcome! Although it is often overlooked, the restaurant boasts fantastic panoramic views over the Morzine and Avoriaz valley. Inside, there is a cosy log burner that keeps the space toasty warm. It features hooks for hanging damp gloves to warm through with the rising heat, and they serve the best homemade tart!”
