We chanced upon the Chasse Montagne when looking for somewhere to send an email in a snowstorm. The restaurant/hotel is tucked to the side of the piste. The interior is super chic, the coffee is not inexpensive however it is a cup of velvety awesomeness.

Located just off the Bruyere piste, immediately on the right as you pass through the tunnel after the Folliets Du Golf chairlift.

Lapisa, Grand Paradis, near Chambery.

Alpage Lapisa, Grand Paradis, Champery.

We love it here at Alpage Lapisa, hidden in its own valley is a beautiful petite Alpine refuge. The views and homemade tarte steals the show from the coffee however it is the combination of all 3 that makes it truly noteworthy. The coffee comes with a ceramic lid to keep it warm which is indicative of the thoughtful service.

Located about 5oom down the piste Ripaille. If you book in for lunch and request in advance they can snowmobile you back to the top of the lift through we don’t know why you would not want to ski all the way down!

L’Anka, Morzine. Honorable mention – Satellite, Morzine!

This unassuming coffee hut has been a long been a Skiology favorite. It is Lavazza capsule coffee and it is gooooooddddd.  The hut is on wheels and retracts into a garage so if you arrive here before it opens or after it closes you will swear it does not exist. l’Anka tends to open before the lifts open and closes shortly after the lifts close.

Located about 50m from the Super Morzine cable car, on the right if your back is to Super Morzine, opposite the stop for the petite train.

Satellite has to get an honorable mention, you can’t ski there however it is worth the walk. They are so specialist about their coffee that your granules will be individually weighed with a microscale, this is a brewhouse after perfection. Located on the Rue De Bourg, in central Morzine.

Bonus! la ferme de Seraussaix (hot chocolate), Avoriaz/Morzine.

La Ferme de Seraussaix

La Ferme De Seraussaix, a working farm with a welcoming shop and cafe area serving hot chocolate made with milk from the farm and where you can go and visit the cows! It does not get much better/local than that. You can ski to the farm, have your hot chocolate, buy some cheese, then put your skis on and ski round to the barn and visit the cows! Last time we went we saw a calf who was born that morning!

Located just off the Seraussaix piste before the tunnel on the right. To access the barn ski through the tunnel then take a right.
