How is the snow ?
-----------------------------------------------------------------
In short, on piste is fantastic, in places it is really so
awesome (skiing in Avoriaz with the team last week almost had me
crying tears of pure winter sports enjoyment, instead I opted for
manly screams of 'oh yeah, I LOVE the skiing'). Off piste is cut
up due to this unusually snow dry January however hopefully the
snow gods have been storing it all up and will let fire any
second now.
The Grand Massif currently has more resorts in the top 10 snow
depths than any other ski area in the whole of France j2ski.com

updates with our own Video blogger Yantz

And skiing in Morzine with the team last week was fantastic !

Behind the scenes part 2
-----------------------------------------------------------------
To carry on from last months newsletter where we devoted a few
column inches to the Team behind the scenes "... how lucky the
Skiology Brothers are to have such a fantastic foundation for
building a business in the hospitality sector; for example our
father is an accountant and our mother a great cook !"
Not everyone may realise this however as well as Skiology Dad
handling out accountants we have a further 4 accountants ! 4 of
which … ahem … work for free. 4 accountants might seem a little
over kill however when we are praised for keeping ski holiday
costs down by The Guradian, Ski & Snowboard magazine and The
Metro Newspaper - skiology press
[http://www.skiology.co.uk/skiology-press/]it is these guys who
we can all thank !
Chief accountant is Christopher Turner aka Dad. Dad overseas
everything, with years of experience running his own businesses
Dad is on hand to answer questions about everything from tax to
how to put on snow chains.
Team EWP (special thanks to Josie and Andy) are our behind the
scenes French accountants who make sure we cross all French Ts
and accent the correct French Es. Both Andy and Josie, have the
patience of saints answering endless questions with the answer
"no you can't do that in France". Andy also recently skiing the
worlds 8th highest mountain which is pretty cool.
Then we have everyone's favourite accountant, soon to join the
Turner family, Steph Andre ! Steph
[http://www.skiology.co.uk/team-skiology/#steph] takes the lions
share of the accounting fun ! From day to day accounting to
Friday invoicing & receipting, to making sure we fly tea bags in
from the U.K rather than pay a 400% mark up at French super
markets.
Finally we have Ben Wilson (long time friend and super mentor).
Ben was our second ever non paid accountant and as a former
employee of the food ethics council, Ben will for example tell us
to think of the food miles when we get Tea flown over - sorry Ben
however I think we can all make an exception for Tea ?
Next month we will pay credit to our local suppliers - such as
our fabulous Butcher who helps keep our meat local !
-----------------------------------------------------------------
So I think that is it for now ! Make sure to add us on Facebook
[http://www.facebook.com/skiologycouk] to keep up with the
pictures of current events such as the Les Carroz hot air ballon
festival and in the weeks following 80s week in Flaine and
Avoriaz music festivals !
