How much is the lift pass Carroz ?

Adults
Massif Pass for 6 days is €171 and Grand Massif €204
Massif Pass for 3 days is €93 and Grand Massif €111

Insurance is highly recommended and costs only €2.8 per day or €16 for 6 days and guarantees search and rescue costs, transport, medical expenses, lift pass cancellation and suspension, lift closure due to lack of snow and damage to rental equipment.

We can save you time and pick these up for you (we can use the Tour operators queue and have the passes waiting for you when you get into resort, we queue so you don't have to !!). We can also reuse hands free passes saving you 3 euros, not much but enough for a beer / vin chaud.

The passes have to be paid for in cash before the end of the holiday.

What is a shared transfer

The most cost effective way for groups of less than 4 people to get to the chalet is with a shared transfer

A shared transfer is €25 pp each way for Morzine and €35 pp each way for Carroz – when it works well, it really works well ... let us explain

All minibus transfers from Geneva are based on the price for the whole van divided by the amount of taken seats.

For example a van with 8 people in costs €168 so divided by 8 is €21 per euro each way, the same van is €120 for 1 person.

If it is just yourself, then with a shared transfer the driver MAY ask you to wait for maximum 1 hr while the minibus fills up (normally 20 mins)

Best case scenario it is just you and they whizz you straight to the door, worst case scenario you wait an hour, drink a coffee, make idle chit chat while you drive round the mountains dropping of Tom,Dick and Harry before reaching your chalet probably 1/2 an hr to 1 hr later than if you had come directly.

This is the same for the return transfer - all transfers leave 3 hrs before the flight departure (1hr to get to the airport, 1 hr to check in and 1 hr contingency for error!), unless there is bad weather, traffic or an accident.

With a shared transfer best case scenario you are picked up 3hrs before the flight. Worse case scenario it is 4 1/2 hrs before the flight, once again you may have to go en-route to another village for Tom, Dick and Harry.

In conclusion, if you are like Skiology director Dom and as soon as you get to Geneva you NEED to be up the mountain, get a private transfer, yes it is more expensive however every extra minute in the van or the airport could be an extra minute up the mountain !

OR if you are little more environmentally conscious (maximising the capacity of the van means less back and forth trips means less carbon emissions), you don’t mind the scenic route, like meeting new people and would rather save the money for a nice mountain lunch – shared transfers is for you !

How much is the transfer Carroz?

LESS THAN 5 PEOPLE : we tend to use ski-lifts.com because they offer a shared lift service. This involves a wait of no longer than an hour at Geneva airport and costs a flat inexpensive rate. Contact us for this as we charge you the discounted tour-operator rate which we can't publish.

MORE THAN 5 PEOPLE : We base our prices on our friends at genevaairporttransfers.com - they are the second least expensive and the most reliable ! The idea is that if for some reason we can't do the transfer then we sub it out it them :)

We do as many of the transfer as we can however these are allocated on a first come first serve basis. For all the transfers we can't do we intrust Mark and Caroline from Mountain Bus company !

Any advice on driving there ?

The journey takes about 8 hours so pack some lunch, there are plenty of picnic stops or find somewhere nice to stop for lunch.

You will need to account for maybe a tank and a half of fuel and tolls too. Both chalets have parking and there are directions on the contact us page of our site.

What are the ski schools like? and how much do they cost?

Because Carroz is a relatively small resort we find the Ski schools here to be very reasonable - We have a great relationship with Nouvelle Dimension and also now with ESF who have some excellent English speaking instructors. Please let us know if you require lessons as we have some preferred instructors that we would love to book on your behalf.

Ski school cost about €153 for 6 lessons or about €77 for a two hour private lesson *recommended.

Price guide : Ski school cost about €135 for 8 hours. Private lesson is  maximum €135 and €15 extra per person which for a group of 5 for example works out at a fantastic value of €19.50 pp per hour !

How is the night life ?

Well the brothers would not choose a place with no night life ! To be honest - we find it perfect ! There are some great bars and a night club too and everything from Karaoke to cocktails.
